Twentieth Century Fox's film and TV studios are conspiring to finally bring hit television series "24" to the bigscreen. The film side has hired scribe Billy Ray ("State of Play," "Flightplan") to pen the script for the feature version. Ray's pitch, which takes Jack Bauer to Europe, was a hit with Fox execs and producers of the high-concept television series.

U.S. actor Michael Chiklis is executive producing and will star in "No Ordinary Family," a new drama pilot for ABC, the show's producers said. Chiklis is best known for his work on "The Shield" and "The Commish." He was nominated in 2002 and 2003 for an Emmy for best actor in a drama series for his performance in "The Shield," winning the Emmy in 2002.

The only thing better than watching Michael Chiklis act is getting to write for him   -Greg Berlanti

Naples resident Mae S. Wood didn't stick her neck out when she conveyed her love of zoos and especially a certain animal. "Every zoo should have a giraffe," said Wood, 100, a one-time board member with the Cincinnati Zoo. Wood joined about 450 others Monday night at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club for a Naples Zoo fundraiser to help build a new giraffe habitat. Television personality and animal lover Jack Hanna shared his passion for the wild side with those attending, adding how excited he is about the planned giraffe exhibit, which he said is one of his favorite animals.

An Adobe product manager has apologized for allowing a potentially serious bug in Flash Player to remain unfixed for more than 16 months. The admission, by Emmy Huang, product manager for Flash, came a week after Apple CEO Steve Jobs lambasted Adobe engineers as "lazy" and said when Macs crash, "more often than not it's because of Flash." Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch struck back, insisting that at Adobe, "we don't ship Flash with any known crash bugs."

Previewing on Tuesday (Feb. 9) night after "American Idol" before migrating to Thursday, "Past Life" dulls down the field of reincarnation and regression therapy into the kind of leaden drama that recalls the less inspired works from the Jerry Bruckheimer ...

Thesp Jim Parsons will receive the NAB Television Chairman's Award for his role as theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper on "The Big Bang Theory." Parsons' work on the CBS laffer has earned him an Emmy nomination and a Television Critics Assn. Award, among other kudos. The NAB laurel, now in its second year, was established by the National Assn. of Broadcasters to honor significant breakthroughs in television.
